With what Mr. Love stated below, I have to say I agree. We've been so caught up in doing comics based on actual events 9our story arcs for example, comics that we've done as favors for other people, and just general nonsense. Our hardcore roots draw back to the days when people would read them and say "Man, I can't believe they just said that". These were the days when I wasn't so mucha writer as I was just a general contributor. I think mostly what has happened is that I was good in smaller doses. Trying to come with ideas for at least 2 strips a week can be draining. Plus, there aren't really good, juicy events to draw from.
i mean, sure, we had that one about Jack Thompson and such but that wasn't really too big. Looking back on what we've done so far its been the story of two guys. This isn't necessarily what we intended this whole project to be( well actually it was, but it really wasn't.) Now, this is the part where you say "but Drew, the main description even says that these are the stories of DJ". Well, truth be told they really weren't intended to be. Back in the day, this was a comic that stated the obvious very bluntly, too bluntly even. This comic has turned into a monster of sorts. We can't even control what it has become. It focuses solely on one aspect of life. We want to expand it, and in turn, mature it.
During this hiatus we will rediscover ourselves. This will be our equivalent to when Malcom X took his pilgrimage to Mecca. We leave you thinking we know a lot of things and leaving a lot of questions behind but we will return with more answers than ever. We will enlighten the world.
Give us some time to sort through this. We will be back with a vengeance. This I promise you.
